The last week showed a noticeable increase in incoming spammails on all of the systems that I operate. Especially my private server and the MUG mail system have seen a big impact on their spamfilters.

Is this just a coincidence or is there som big operation currently giong on? All of the mails that passed through the filters seem to be from the same spammer. Their subjects include:

  • Open Positions
  • Representatives Wanted
  • West Union Group
  • Regional Representatives Needed

They seem to originate from a wide range of zombie hosts, so I settled with blocking just their subjects ... not exactly best practice but it works by now and will give the DNSBL some time to get the zombies on their lists.
